Can an employer force you to work in an office with no air conditioning in extreme heat?

I work in an office in New York (Upstate)) and the only room where there is air conditioning is in the bosses office and the break room. Our offices got up to 90+ degrees last Friday and it was only 80 outside. I wanted to know if there was a law that prohibits him from keeping us here at work if the office is more than a certain temp. Keep in mind that we also have a factory out back who does production with dangerous machines. Thanks for the help in advance!!!!!
