Do you think one reason for the economic depression is lack of innovative new ideas?

Like new ways of doing things --- rethinking our world and planning new methods, products, innovation, to drive the economic engine. I'm thinking that if there is a need and others can meet the need, then if there is a funding source and income from the process, it's jobs, new ideas, economic growth.
