Best way to do meat fondue?

I want to do a meat fondue with chicken, steak, and shrimp. What do you put in the fondue pot- I've heard you can use chicken broth. So can I just buy some cans of chicken broth and and dump it in the pot? Do you add water or anything? Tips please!
